Ethos

AREA 52 was set up as a technology and ideas based innovation group.
It is comprised of individuals from varying backgrounds covering, marketing, graphic design, web design, data / documentation management, facilities management, management consultancy and IT hardware design.

 

1. CONCEPT
The AREA52 concept is to bring together individuals from varying backgrounds in an idea generation forum, with a view to creating possible spin off enterprises or projects.

 

2. SUITABLE PROJECTS
Any projects / ideas deemed suitable by the group would be taken through the following process :

• Initial group proofing process
• Basic concept analysis
• Development phase
• Commercialisation

There are no limits or barriers placed on the type or potential of the early idea other than the scope of the group’s innovation.

 

3. NEW MEMBERS
There will, initially, be potential for like minded individuals to be invited to join the group either as a temporary guest contributor, or later as a main AREA52 board member. Participation can be either through idea presentation, skills identification or capital input.

 

4. OWNERSHIP / CONFIDENTIALITY
At all stages of the process, ideas / innovations, once presented, remain the property of the AREA52 group, for an initial period of 12 months, until potential for development or commercialisation has been established. During this period    confidentiality must be maintained and participants / members will be required to sign appropriate confidentiality / non disclosure agreements.

 

5. EXPANSION
It is the group’s intention to expand the forum, on a phased basis, to possibly include incubation forums in both 3rd level and 2nd level educational institutions.

 

6. FUNDING
Currently a privately funded group, however, some alternative investment potential may be sourced at a later date, when and if necessary.
